Current Vacancies
Preschool Teacher
Preschool teachers are responsible for the early early education of children in their care. Duties are responsibilities of Preschool Teachers include developing and reliving interactive learning programs designed to engage and educate young children.
Requirements
• Must be above 18 years of age
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent education & CDA or higher
• Have at least 1 year experience working with children
• Pass a Background Check
• Be CPR & 1st aid certified
• Complete a tuberculosis test and physical and provide physician documentation of both.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in their classrooms
• Provide basic needs for children
• Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
Preschool Teacher skills and qualifications
• Ability to develop activities that are fun and educational for young children
• Ability to instruct young children in rules of conduct and learning new tasks
• Ability to select the appropriate teaching method and adapt to children's learning styles
• Ability to effectively communicate with students & parents
• Patience and compassion suitable for working with young children
• Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to the various needs of children and parents.
Assistant Teacher
Assistant teachers are to ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social and physical needs as well as their education. They must utilize developmentally appropriate practice and best practice methods at all times.
Assistant teachers must be warm and nurturing with children and be a positive role model for all care giving staff & children while being customer service orientated and professional.
Requirements
• Must be above 18 years of age
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent education
• Have at least 1 year experience working with children
• Pass a Background Check
• Be CPR & 1st aid certified
• Complete a tuberculosis test and physical and provide physician documentation of both
• Posses a strong work ethic, be punctual and have minimal absences
• Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities
• Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 70lbs
• Be available for full-time employment and available to work as late as 6 pm
• Have dependable transportation.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
• Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
• Assist children with activities of daily life
• Approach parents daily and speak with them about child(ren)
• Help facilitate daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for preschool
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean, organized and safe for all children
• Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events that may be on nights and or weekends
• Assist with the completion of daily sheets and daily activities pertaining to eating, sleeping & diaper changes
• Communicate with lead teacher regarding all aspects of the children care as well as classroom management
• Maintain a professional self-image at all times
Preschool Cook
Cooks must be able to work in a cooperative manner with other staff members, students, parents and funding agency personnel. They should be in possession of basic mathematical skills and must be able to accomplish accurate record-keeping. Furthermore, cooks must be able to work safely around stoves and chemicals while having the physical endurance to spend many hours standing, walking and lifting heavy objects.
Requirements
• Must be above 18 years of age
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent education
• Have at least one year of experience in meal planning and preparation, knowledge of early-childhood nutrition
• Have experience working with groups of children
• Candidates may also be required to undergo criminal background checks and TB skin tests, as well as pre-employment and random drug screens.
Primary Responsibilities
The preschool cook & daily activities involve both menu development and the preparation of nutritious meals and snacks for all students. Menus are developed through collaboration with nutrition consultants; cooks must be able to provide substitute meals for children with special dietary requirements. These individuals are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness in both the kitchen and storage areas. Some items, such as ovens, pantries and refrigerators, need to be sanitized at regularly scheduled intervals.
